Hello,
We need to use a CRUD which works with Oracle too for an application. We love Dataface and would like to use it to interface with Oracle too. Is there any wrapper for Oracle we could use with Dataface ?
Thank you
Sten

Hi Sten,

Glad you are enjoying working with Dataface. Currently only MySQL is supported. Dataface uses a lot of MySQL-specific SQL to allow it to work smoothly with the database so porting it to other databases would require a bit of work. Using the ADODB libraries it would concievably be possible to make Dataface multi-database but I unfortunately haven’t had the need to create any non-mysql apps - and hence I haven’t had any reason to port the framework over.

If one of my clients needs it to work on another DB then I would be able to justify the time spent on such a port, but with so many other needs, this one will have to wait for now.

Best regards

Steve

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your quick answer. I quite understand your position. I find Dataface really ergonomic and pleasant to work with. I have no doubt more and more users will adopt it and so, more and more developpers.
Cheers
Sten

There is some news about ADOdb?

No. My situation hasn’t changed. I haven’t had any clients that require a different database so porting over to AdoDB hasn’t happened.
